Founded in 2009, this festival has become a must-see event for tourists visiting this magical town, famously known as the birthplace of the Paste in Mexico. The Paste, an iconic dish of the region's gastronomy, takes center stage in this one-of-a-kind event in the country.

Real del Monte, also known as Mineral del Monte, shares a deep historical connection with the British, particularly the Cornish community. In the early 19th century, Cornish miners arrived in the area to work in the local silver mines, bringing with them their traditions, customs, and, most notably, the Cornish pasty. Over time, this traditional British dish was adapted to local tastes, evolving into the beloved Paste we know today. The Paste Fest is not only a celebration of this culinary tradition but also a tribute to the enduring cultural ties between Real del Monte and the Cornish community.

Organized by the Consejo Regulador del Patrimonio Cultural Cornwall Real del Monte A.C., the festival features the participation of numerous local Paste producers. The streets of Real del Monte come alive with vendors offering a delicious variety of Pastes—ranging from traditional potato and bean to green mole, red mole, chorizo with cheese, and much more.
