Each November, Scotland turns red. Not with autumn leaves, but with millions of delicate poppies worn close to the heart — symbols of remembrance, resilience, and gratitude.

This year, the Saint Andrew’s Society of Mexico joins that tradition from across the ocean. We invite our members, friends, and everyone who feels connected to Scotland to wear the poppy and support the Scottish Poppy Appeal — because remembrance knows no borders.

Why It Matters

The poppy is more than a flower — it is a promise. It represents the men and women who served, who sacrificed, and who continue to live with the consequences of war.

In Scotland, thousands of veterans and their families rely on the vital support provided by Poppyscotland: financial aid, housing, employment training, mental health services, and community care. Each donation ensures that no one who served is left behind.

Even from Mexico, we can stand with them. Every contribution — no matter how small — helps rebuild lives and honours those who gave so much for others.

Made by Veterans, for Veterans

Every Scottish poppy is handmade at Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory in Edinburgh by veterans who find renewed purpose and stability through their work. The poppy’s distinct four-petal design — without a leaf — has become a uniquely Scottish emblem of remembrance.

When you wear one, you carry a piece of their story. When you donate, you help keep that story alive.

📅 Date: Sunday, 9 November

📍 Venue: Christ Church, Lomas de Chapultepec, Mexico City

As we wear our poppies this November — under a different sun but with the same red bloom — let’s remember that gratitude has no borders.

By donating and attending our service, you become part of something deeply human: an unbroken chain of compassion linking one generation to the next, one country to another.

Lest we forget — and let us give, together.
